About us The Healthcare Technology Accelerator Facility (HTAF) is a vibrant initiative aimed at expediting the development of healthcare technology within the University of Edinburgh BioQuarter. It consists of three main divisions: the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) Manufacturing Lab, Sterile Drug Manufacturing GMP Facility, and Investigational Supplies Group (ISG). Specialising in producing small batches of Investigational Medicinal Products MIA (IMP) tailored for clinical trials and commercial projects, the facility also conducts peptide synthesis, small molecule production, and method development/stability studies. Additionally, it manages vital components of clinical trials, including IMP importation, placebo creation, and over-encapsulation for blinding purposes.
